Derrick Goh Soon Hee (Chinese: 吴顺喜; pinyin: Wú Shùnxǐ; born 4 July 1968) is a Singaporean politician and banker. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he has been serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Nee Soon Link within Nee Soon Group Representation Constituency (GRC) since 2020. Goh is also the Chairman of Nee Soon Town Council (NSTC).

Early Life and Education

Goh was born into a family with three siblings. He graduated from Nanyang Technological University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours). In 2006, he obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from The Wharton School, where he studied under a scholarship from American Express (Amex).

Banking career

Goh has extensive experience in the banking sector. He spent over a decade at American Express, working in London and New York before joining DBS Bank in 2008. At DBS, he held several senior positions, including:

  • Chief Operating Officer for Institutional Banking Group
  • Head of POSB Bank (appointed on 1 October 2012)
  • Managing Director and Regional Head of DBS Treasures Private Client and DBS Treasures (appointed 9 March 2016)
  • Managing Director and Head of Audit at DBS Bank (from 2018) In addition to his corporate roles, Goh has been a district councillor with the South West Community Development Council since 2013.

Political career

Goh entered politics in the 2020 general election, contesting Nee Soon GRC under the People's Action Party (PAP) against the Progress Singapore Party (PSP). He was part of a five-member PAP team alongside K. Shanmugam, Louis Ng, Faishal Ibrahim, and Carrie Tan. The team won with 61.9% of the valid votes, securing their positions in the 14th Parliament of Singapore.

On 1 September 2020, Goh made his parliamentary speech debut. He highlighted residents’ feedback on the Self-Employed Person Income Relief Scheme (SIRS) as part of Singapore’s COVID-19 Solidarity Budget, stressing the need for effective policy implementation.

Since his election, Goh has been serving as the Chairman of Nee Soon Town Council (NSTC), overseeing municipal management within the constituency.

Contributions

He tries his best to be a good listener and a good communicator for his residents. He has launched several programmes to improve Nee Soon Link public transportation and Home Improvement Programme. He is dedicated in working on several initiatives to tackle inequalities.
