Rahayu Mahzam (Rahayu binte Mahzam) is a Singaporean politician from the People’s Action Party (PAP). She currently serves as Minister of State, Ministry of Digital Development and Information & Ministry of Health.
Early Education
Rahayu was born on July 21, 1980 in Singapore. She received early education from Raffles Girls' School and Raffles Junior College. She graduated from Faculty of Law at the National University of Singapore in 2003. A year later, she was called to the Bar, specializing in civil litigation and family law.
Legal Career
Rahayu has a 16-year experience as a lawyer. She joined the law firm Heng, Leong & Srinivasan LLC as a partner in 2008. Then, she served as Deputy Registrar of the Syariah Court from 2013 to 2015 before turning to private practice. She is also an accredited Associate Mediator.
Political Career
Rahayu began her political career in 2015 by joining the PAP. She was elected as a MP for Bukit Batok after the party secured 79% of the vote in the general election. She was re-elected five years later after the PAP gained 74% of the vote.
Rahayu has assumed various positions:

- Minister of State for Health (since 15 May 2024)
- Minister of State for Communications and Information (15 May 2024 – 7 July 2024)
- Minister of State for Digital Development and Information (since 8 July 2024)
Programs
As an MP, Rahayu is committed to supporting residents in need and fostering community cohesion. She has launched several social programs in Bukit Batok East that aim to assist families, support students, and empower women. Her initiatives have contributed to Bukit Batok East being recognized as a Dementia-Friendly Community in Singapore.
Personal Life
Rahayu married a civil servant around 2011. On 7 April 2017, her son, Muhamad Ayden, was born. Ayden was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. Rahayu has openly shared her stories to raise awareness and advocate for inclusive education for special needs.
