Controversies
- just before National Day 9 August 2024, Baey Yam Keng, MP for Tampines GRC, showed video of himself and other PAP members distributing free ice cream to residents, following in the footsteps of Tan Kiat How, MP for East Coast GRC, who did it in June, and Low Yen Ling, MP for Chua Chu Kang GRC, who did it in May. Many members of the public criticized it as an election gimmick back then as rumors of a general election in 2024 were swirling.[3]
