Gan Thiam Poh
Gan Thiam Poh (颜添宝; pinyin: Yán Tiānbǎo), born on 23 October 1963, is a Singaporean politician from the People's Action Party (PAP). He has been a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Fernvale division of the Ang Mo Kio Group Representation Constituency (GRC) since 2020. Previously, he represented the Sengkang South division of Ang Mo Kio GRC from 2015 to 2020 and the Punggol South division of Pasir Ris–Punggol GRC from 2011 to 2015.

Early life and education
He was educated at Mee Toh Primary School, Hwi Yoh Secondary School, and Outram Secondary. He completed his Bachelor of Science in economics, mathematics, and computer programming & applications from the National University of Singapore in 1988.
Career
Gan has an extensive career in the banking sector. He worked for Maybank and United Overseas Bank and assumed senior roles. He later moved to DBS and has been the Senior Vice President of DBS Private Banking since 2002.
Political career
Before entering politics, Gan had been actively involved in community engagement activities for 15 years at SMC Potong Pasir. He joined the PAP and won the 2011 general election. He has assumed roles for multiple districts; he has represented various constituencies—initially, Punggol-South Division of Pasir-Ris-Punggol GRC from 2011 to 2015, followed by Sengkang-South Division of Ang Mo-Kio GRC from 2015 until 2020—and presently represents Fernvale Division within Ang Mo-Kio GRC since 2020.
He supported the presence of opposition groups in the parliament as long as they suggested people-centric programs, not only go against the governing PAP.
Personal life
Gan is married and a father of two daughters. He is fluent in Cantonese, Teochew, and Hokkien.
