Nadia Ahmad Samdin

Nadia Ahmad Samdin (born 1990) is a Singaporean politician from the ruling People's Action Party (PAP). She has been serving as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Ang Mo Kio Group Representation Constituency (GRC) since 2020. Besides her parliamentary roles, she is also a lawyer and she has been active in youth advocacy and community engagement.

Early Life and Education

Nadia was born in Singapore in 1990. She received education at local schools before pursuing higher education at the National University of Singapore (NUS), where she earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.).

Legal career

Nadia is a trained lawyer and has worked in both public and private sectors. Before entering politics, she gained experience in legal advisory roles, particularly focusing on corporate law, governance, and community outreach.

Political career

Nadia entered politics in the 2020 Singapore general election, contesting under the PAP banner in Ang Mo Kio GRC, which is helmed by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. She was successfully elected as an MP, contributing to policies and initiatives in areas such as social welfare, youth development, and sustainability.[1]

As an MP, Nadia has been actively involved in community engagement programs and legislative discussions, particularly in advocating for youth empowerment, mental health awareness, and social inclusion.

Community Involvement

Beyond politics, Nadia has been a strong advocate for youth leadership and volunteerism. She has held various roles in non-profit organizations and government advisory groups focusing on youth issues and public service.

She also raises concerns over the Israel-Palestine conflict and calls for the transparency of aid distributed to the innocent victims affected by the war. Also, she stressed that Singaporeans must refrain from posting divisive comments related to the Israel-Palestine conflict on social media to avoid tensions.[2]

Personal life

Nadia is passionate for public service and community engagement. In her personal capacity, she participates in volunteer initiatives and continues to support youth-driven projects in Singapore.
