Shawn Huang Wei Zhong (黄伟中; pinyin: Huáng Wěizhōng), born on 19 July 1982, is a prominent Singaporean politician and former fighter pilot. He is a member of the People's Action Party (PAP) and has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Jurong Spring division of Jurong Group Representation Constituency (GRC) since July 2020. As of May 2024, he holds the position of Senior Parliamentary Secretary in both the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance.

Early Life and Education
Huang was born in Singapore and initially known as Ingkiriwang Shawn Wei Zhong. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy in 2006, where he was recognized as a Distinguished Graduate. In 2015, he received the prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship to pursue a Global Master of Business Administration at Tsinghua University in collaboration with MIT135.
Military career
Before entering politics, Huang had a distinguished career in the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), where he served as an F-16 fighter pilot from 2000 until his retirement in 2018. During his military service, he accumulated over 1,000 flying hours and held various leadership roles, including that of National Day Parade Commander in 2018135. He continues to serve in a reserve capacity.
Political career
Huang was introduced as a PAP candidate for the 2020 General Elections on June 26, 2020, and was elected with his team, securing approximately 74.62% of the votes in Jurong GRC57. His political focus includes enhancing educational opportunities and financial governance. He has been actively involved in community service since 2010, particularly in Taman Jurong, where he served as chairman of the Community Arts and Culture Club15.
Recent Developments
As of December 2024, Huang continues to serve as Senior Parliamentary Secretary for both education and finance, reflecting his commitment to public service and governance17. In recognition of his contributions to public service, he was awarded the Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (Public Service Medal) in 201934.

Shawn Huang is married and has two children. He has been involved with various charitable organizations, including serving as a director at Tasek Jurong since 2014, which focuses on community development initiatives13.
